However, the obstacles that they encounter are unique and every story is different. In Africa, a woman may be struggling to feed her child while battling AIDS, whereas a woman in Afghanistan may still be striving for equal rights. In a western country, her battle may not be starvation or oppression, but rather standing up to the negative influences of society, such as drugs and alchohol. In North Korea, a woman may be fighting for her right to a religion, but in Israel, the threat of terrorism is her number one concern. It is important that we learn the stories of other women in the world. Through this knowledge we may learn how to deal with the issues of our own lives and also to appreciate all the good things we have. But most importantly, obtaining knowledge is the first step in helping those in need, and it is through each other that women have often found the strength and support they need to succeed.
